Support our work for children in Lebanon
The war in Lebanon has had a catastrophic effect on children and vulnerable communities. Even before the recent escalation in conflict, many families in Lebanon were teetering on the brink due to multiple and unrelenting crises, including an economic collapse that has sent poverty rates soaring. Now, violence has further upended children’s lives and, in many cases, inflicted severe physical wounds and deep emotional scars.
For over 75 years, UNICEF has supported and protected children in Lebanon. In response to the worsening crisis, UNICEF, in collaboration with the Lebanese government and partners, has provided essential aid, including clean water, hygiene kits, educational supplies, blankets, and personal items for women and girls. They’ve delivered nutrition supplies like baby food, psychosocial support, child protection services, and recreational activities. Medical aid includes emergency kits, midwifery supplies, medications, and first aid kits. UNICEF has identified and supported injured children with case management and specialized services, repaired damaged water and sanitation facilities, and deployed mobile health units for medical care and immunizations.
UNICEF is committed to support children to go back to public schools in Lebanon
